This isn’t about punishment or humiliation. This is submission at it’s purest. She willingly presents herself in a position that is beneath him. Bindings are not necessary. She is at peace with herself and with who she is. His foot placed gently on her head signifies his acceptance of her. It goes beyond the physical and becomes a spiritual statement. He is Lord and Master of her entire universe. He is above her to guide, nurture and protect. He walks beside her to share companionship and to remind her that she is never alone. And, when she is tired or hurt or afraid, he will pick her up and carry her.

I got shivers while reading this. This is really what it’s all about. This is what makes D/s so very, very powerful.
